Completely dressed in white,
they enter in the crowd's field of sight,
A roar resounds all around the stadium,
right into the captain's ear drums,
The cheers of the fans make his heart race,
and slowly, tears trickle down his face,

Real Madrid legend, Raul Gonzalez |
to captain his favourite team,
and now he's there,
with his supporter's chants in the air,
raising him to wild heights,
his heart ignites,
and he remembers as a kid,
singing, "Hala Madrid!"
in the very same stadium
I was inspired to write this poem when I heard Real Madrid fans chanting "Hala Madrid!" which translated means, "Hail Madrid!". Writing this poem I thought about the feelings that a player haas when entering a stadium full of loving fans, singing your name to the sky. And so I decided to put it in the perspective of the legendary Real Madrid captain, Raul Gonalez. I tried to write the entirety of the poem in an aabbccddeeffggh rhyme scheme, but there are a couple of times where maybe it doesn't sound as perfect as it could.
Nice poem, but there are a few rhyming errors, for example stadium and drums. Overall a good job though.
ReplyDeleteGood work niccolo. I like how you incorporated the soccer player's childhood with his present feeling of being on the soccer field. You've really brought the feel of a live stadium into your poem. (A roar resounds all around the stadium,
ReplyDeleteright into the captain's ear drums) Great poem.
